I’ve been reading another one of the Skinny Bitch books this week and I was reminded of how they view aspartame as a devil-ingredient (my words, not theirs). I won’t get into the detail but the book lays down some shocking facts about the approval of aspartame that would have you gasping. I have always thought that Diet Soda drinks were a waste of time and that if I am going to drinkpoisonsoda I may as well drink the real stuff. Having said that, I believe the real stuff is made from high fructose corn syrup (in the United States anyway). Which is worse? Aspartame or high fructose corn syrup? Who cares - I don’t want either in my body. Needless to say, the one full fat soda I allowed myself per week has now been reduced to zero.
Sprite Green is SO nice when you want that refreshing soda taste and it uses Truvia. The only zero-cal drink I have ever been able to drink has been Coke Zero. Sprite Green is even better in my opinion - no aftertaste etc. Which is why I have never been able to handle the normal Diet Coke. Bleuch!
